They noted that this was probably because of the Kalamazoo River spill. On April 20,a group of about 30 protesters gathered at the site of the Kalamazoo River oil spill to protest against tar sands oil, frackingand Enbridge's response to the spill.
Kalamazoo County Commissioner Jeff Heppler, whose property was affected by the spill, was present at the protest and stated, "'All I am asking is Enbridge do what they said they said they will do and what is right and take care of everybody, including the businesses that were adversely impacted by the oil spill.

I've had situations in the past when it is their month to do an actual read but they miss it due to a snow storm so starting in I got in the habit of submitting actual reads every month.
Between andthe Conditions of Service also outlined that they were only obligated to do one read every 12 months. They still aimed for every other month in my area but it was YMMV. If their process is to read the meter every 2nd month and estimate for the in between month, then that is what it is. A little snow should not stop a meter reader so that is a baloney excuse.
The only time I would be reading my meter is to validate their info if I felt that there was a pattern of it being wrong. I am sorry but we pay these guys too much as it is so no way I am going to do part of their job and read the meter.
I just received an email at this evening, informing me that I also have been switched over to email billing to serve me better. It costs them money and postage to send out paper bills. Screw them, if they want me to so help them save money then they can give me at least the postage off.

If Enbridge is doing the same stunt but changing people to e-bills when they never agreed to, they might be breaking some kind of law policy. Yup, happened to me too.
